Pictures of Honor for an Honorable Soldier

I feel these pictures of Papaw's burial service were fitting for the eve of 9/11.  He loved the United States of America; so much that he gave over 22 years of his life to her.  Because of his devotion and rank, he earned the highest military burial honors (outside of fallen soldiers).

The service was held in the "round house" at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.  The "round house" is a round structure encased in glass, perched on top of a hill, giving a 360 degree view of the grounds.  The burial service itself was attended only by close family.  It was a rainy, chilly day, which matched our mood.
Note: some of the outside pictures appear blurry, but it's actual the misting rain.
