A final goodbye

Today Papaw was buried at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.  His casket was carried by the honor guard, who also gave him a 21 gun salute, played taps and presented the flag from his casket to GG (Bricen's great-grandmother). Pictures were taken by the funeral home and I'll post a few later in the week.

The ceremony was touching and fitting for a man who loved his country enough to serve over 20 years in service to her.  His tombstone will read "A Family Man & A Patriot" - these words along with the cross  on top, sum up Papaw.  His love for God, his family and his country.

Tired after the ceremony, Bricen decided crawling better suited him

Only at a military cemetery, would one find a box of tissues marked "State Property"...at least they didn't ration the number one could use!!
